The result was a piece of jewellery of exceptional quality that fitted the design brief perfectly.

I learned so much about diamonds with Graham

Graham was recommended to me by a friend and the first piece Graham created for me was an eternity ring. I knew exactly what I wanted and explained the design to Graham which he immediately understood and created a brief for the actual design. He listened to every detail I explained to him and the hand made eternity ring really was perfect We then decided to ask Graham to make a suite of diamond stud earrings and a diamond dress ring. We knew the earrings had to be simple but I had only a vague idea what the ring might look like. With both pieces, Graham was so knowledgeable, talking us through the details of stones he would source for us and the design of the pieces. With a particular ring in mind, he took a brief in our meeting and sketched a design which was then designed to scale. I learned so much about diamonds, where they were sourced, the cut, colour and clarity, and which setting would be appropriate to optimise their varying brilliance. We have certificates for all of the large diamonds which I had little knowledge about before working with Graham.The earring design and the actual dress ring met the brief perfectly. I would have no hesitation at all in recommending Graham to design and create any piece of jewellery, or simply to source stones for purchase. He is knowledgeable and he takes time to share his expertise to clients who have little understanding and is never condescending in his manner. He quite clearly loves what he does and this really was demonstrated in the way he serves his clients. He really wanted us involved to really appreciate the diamonds and the bespoke jewellery pieces created. The whole experience from start to finish was terrific. I will, without doubt be asking Graham to design and create more pieces for me in future. The experience is so much more worthwhile than buying something off the shelf from a store. The entire process gives you an attachment to the jewellery somehow, more so than simply buying a finished ring at retail. I absolutely recommend Graham Tom to everyone.

Graham sourced a magnificent diamond

I have recently got engaged and for someone with as little experience of the jewellery business as myself, finding the ideal ring can be an added stress to an already scary experience. After extensive research I chose Graham who educated me about the variables governing the value of a diamond and helped me design my fiancee’s engagement ring. His vast expertise in the industry, coupled with his attentive and personalised approach allowed me to obtain the perfect ring (fortunately the wife agrees!). Graham was able to source a magnificent diamond and then design a beautiful piece of jewellery at a competitive price. Graham knows a heck of a lot about diamonds, but his real skill was in holding my hand as I went through a process from thinking I knew the ring I wanted, to realising it wasn’t ticking all the boxes, to finding the one that did. I trusted him immediately and his advice and suggestions throughout meant I’ve ended up with a beautiful piece of jewellery I never even imagined I was looking for!

Graham is very knowledgeable

It’s very personal to what you want: whether simply looking at updating wedding rings or more unique pieces for special occasions. He is very knowledgeable on selecting and sourcing stones and is able to explain it all in simple terms. He also has very good ideas if you need some inspiration or suggestions and will take the time to bring you samples and doesn’t rush you into a decision. So, we have no hesitation in recommending Graham!

Eager to share his knowledge of gemstones

When I first met Graham he was the tutor of my Gemmology course at Holt’s Academy and I found him an enthusiastic friendly teacher, eager to share his knowledge of gemstones and the many facets of the jewellery trade from long experience in the diamond and jewellery business in the UK and abroad. I subsequently discovered that one of Graham’s services was the creation of bespoke jewellery, so I commissioned a pair of earrings with my own vague design in mind and with his close guidance, knowledge and suggestions for embellishments he helped me to distil my ideas and realise them. He even suggested that I could get 2 pairs for the price of one with some beautiful detachable pearl drops. The whole process over several sessions was easy: we met in a pleasant office, Graham was always punctual and efficient and he sourced the best colour-matched stones and pearls for my budget. We had a tight deadline for my son’s wedding and Graham delivered the earrings exactly on time. He has an excellent aftercare service if anything needs subsequent fine adjustment and is concerned that the client is totally happy. I now have a pair of exquisite earrings with pleasant memories attached for less than half the price in a retail outlet. Previous jewellers always proved a bad experience through their lack of an eye for the aesthetic and unquestioning attitude.

It has been a pleasure working with you and we have valued all the knowledge and sound advice that you have given us throughout. I asked for the most beautiful diamond in the world and that is exactly what I got!! We love the ring so much, I just can’t stop looking at it and smiling. It is so simple, yet striking and is leaps and bounds ahead of anything that we have ever seen (and we have been looking extensively for a really long time!) I am so happy that my parents were here to see it as they love it too. And it is definitely a talking point in the office, despite me wanting it to be very personal and not flashy so I am sure that I will be sending some ladies your way when the time is right, I have already had a couple of them ask for your details! We do not often splash out on items for personal pleasure, but I do have an eye for lovely things and look forward to working with you again in the not too distant future!
